A new immersive entertainment facility and outdoor adventure park dubbed HangDog is set to open at 410 Cedarville Rd in Lehigh Valley next spring, according to self-proclaimed “CEO of fun,” Mike McCreary.
“This is going to be the largest outdoor adventure ropes course on the East Coast, and we’re kind of changing the entire industry,” McCreary tells What Now Philadelphia. “We’re looking at it from a pure entertainment perspective. Where a lot of these venues close down for the evenings, we’re going to have some inspiring and fun lighting throughout the course and venue. Accompanying that with the live music, and the food and beverage options, we think it’s going to be a real hit for families and adults.”
Aside from the park’s signature ropes course, McCreary sourced his pizza oven from Fiero Group, a New York-based restaurant supply company that imports wood-fired pizza ovens from Italy, which will be housed in a food trailer that serves up artisan-style pizzas, as well as fried chicken and hand-cut fries cooked in a top-of-the-line Henny Penny pressure cooker.
“We’re keeping it simple,” McCreary says of the menu. “Just trying to execute it well.”
Meanwhile, an outside group will be handling the beer garden, operating under the name HangDog Brewing Company.
As for the ropes course itself, a four-story structure will give way to zip lines, free fall jumps, a giant swing, and more, all of which “means a good time for beginners and seasoned climbers alike of any age.”
