Julius Dossen’s Sassa Bienne Exquisite Taste food truck began serving authentic Caribbean, West African, and Cajun food in 2007. 16 years later, Dossen is opening Sassa Bienne’s first brick and mortar restaurant at 300 East Greentree Road, reports community Facebook group A View From Evesham.

An official opening date hasn’t been set, but Dossen, the establishment’s owner and chef, hopes to hold Sassa Bienne Exquisite Taste’s grand opening in June.

The establishment received its permits on March 31 and construction is currently underway on the Meeting House Square location. Sassa Bienne Exquisite Taste is taking over the storefront vacated by the Marlton Bistro.

Dossen dedicated great care to choosing Sassa Bienne Exquisite Taste’s permanent home, beginning his search prior to the COVID shut-downs. Speaking to What Now Philadelphia, the restaurateur states “It took two years to find the perfect location. Marlton is the ideal place, and we have a customer base that’s excited.”

Dossen, who emigrated to the United States from Liberia in 1991, cited a lack of available authentic West Indies food in the region as an additional impetus for selecting Marlton.

Dossen has a very realized vision for the finished restaurant. “We’re going to have a lounge and dining area and live music,” he states. “Customer service is extremely important to me.”

The establishment uses spices from local farms. Though the menu isn’t completed, Dossen assures customers that in addition to meat dishes like jerk chicken, Sassa Bienne Exquisite Taste will offer vegan and vegetarian options.
