Spread Bagelry will continue to grow its carbohydrate empire in 2023. The local favorite plans to open four new Pennsylvania stores through 2023, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Spread will be opening new shops in Upper Dublin, Ambler, Wynnewood, and Newtown Square.

Spread plans to open the Upper Dublin store, located at 1091 Market Street, in May. 40 Skippack Pike in Ambler and 50 E. Wynnewood Road in Wynnewood will open in June.

Spread plans to open its largest store in the Village at Ellis Preserve, located at 102 Squire Drive in Newtown Square, in November. This facility will exceed the established Spread store size by 50 percent.

Spread CEO Jamie Schrotberger hints at potential changes on the horizon for the bakery. He states that individual stores will curate their hours according to their customer’s needs, and potentially amend their menus similarly.

Spread’s leadership continues to eye expansion possibilities. Schrotberger suggests that Spread will look to spread its wares to New Hope, Princeton, and even the D.C. area next year. Additionally, the chain is migrating southward. Spread is opening locations in Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina later this year.

Spread Bagelry opened its first storefront in Philadelphia in 2010. The establishment’s wood-oven baked Montreal-style bagels earned an ardent following, and additional shops opened across the city and into the suburbs. Spread currently has ten bakeries in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Spread Bagelry’s menu features a wide array of bagels and spreads, in addition to all-day breakfast sandwiches, and signature deli sandwiches.
