The East Village-based restaurant and bar The Wren just made a cheeky announcement on Instagram that it will be temporarily closed for “wrenovations.”
The Wren opened its doors on 344 Bowery in late 2011 and bills itself as an upscale rustic pub known for its seasonal cocktails, vintage beers and bar food. It is just one of many bars in the hospitality group Sleeping Giant’s portfolio. The group also operates Bua in the East Village, Wilfie & Nell in the West Village, Sweet Afton in Astoria, The Penrose in the Upper East Side, The Bonnie in Astoria and The Spaniard in the West Village. The group also just debuted their newest concept Albert’s Bar at 140 E 41st Street in Midtown near Grand Central last year, as previously reported by What Now New York.
In their Instagram post it said The Wren will be closed for a couple of weeks, and the team will post updates of their progress on their social media.
