A Lancaster favorite brewery is inching closer to its Philadelphia debut. Our Town Brewery will be opening its first taproom in the City of Brotherly Love this fall, reports The Philadelphia Business Journal.
Our Town will be opening its first foray outside of Lancaster at 1519 Ridge Avenue. The space will provide co-founders Rob Tarves and Rob Patz with 1,700 square-feet of indoor space and 600 square-feet to dedicate to an outdoor beer garden. The space should be able to accommodate between 80 and 100 guests in total.
The proprietors are enthusiastic about entering the booming Philadelphia craft-brewery scene. Tarves states ““[The Philadelphia beer scene is] a scene we’re really excited to be able to kind of put our mark on a little bit because it’s an impressive scene, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”
The taproom will feature 10 taps to showcase Our Town’s beer selection. The ales won’t be brewed on site, but will be shipped in from Lancaster. The brewery hasn’t landed on a precise food model yet. While Tarves and Patz will not have kitchen space, they are hoping to work with other local businesses to provide take-out options, as well as allowing customers to bring in their own meals and snacks.
Our Town originally hoped to open its doors in August. However, the business is optimistic that all of the construction and inspections will be completed in time to allow a late autumn opening.
