Active in the Las Vegas hospitality industry for more than 20 years, chef Fred Howard is preparing to launch a new home for his Southern Style Eatery concept. The restaurant will open at 1500 S Las Vegas Boulevard, according to licensing paperwork submitted recently to the City of Las Vegas.

What Now confirmed the news with Chef Howard on Monday. Howard said the restaurant is making progress toward launch, with a soft opening planned sometime in June, and a Grand Opening in July.

“We’re a great, family-oriented restaurant, Vegas-bred,” said Howard told What Now. “We’re here for our community one hundred percent.”

The menu opens with sides and starters like Chicken Wings, Onion Rings, and Dirty Fries. There are Southern Style Meals like Blackened Fish, Beef Oxtails, Gumbo, Shrimp & Grits, Meatloaf, and other classics from Southern cuisine. More sides include Sweet Potatoes, Fried Okra, and Mac & Cheese.
