According to a recent permit filing, Lizzano aims to debut in the Fulton River District at 636 N Wells Street.

Lizzano’s will come from Gabriel Fleury, who is also the founder of Deep Purpl. Lizzano’s will be “An Italian restaurant focused on the craft of panini, taglieri, and spritz, located in the heart of River North, Chicago.”

An article from Loyola Today tells us a bit more about Gabriel, stating, “Growing up in Brazil, I knew I wanted to live in a major U.S. city, and I really liked Chicago. I also wanted to attend a well-ranked business program, as I knew I wanted to start a business afterward. Loyola was a good match and helped me make the connections and get the education I needed to start my business.”

“While in Chicago, I found I had a connection to the acai berry. It is grown in my home country of Brazil, and I had missed it since moving.”

“My idea then was to create a restaurant named Deep Purpl, where people could enjoy the acai I had grown up eating. If I was going to live somewhere other than my home country, it needed to be for something I loved doing.”
