Chicago Bocce Club is opening this month in West Town. The clubhouse will offer a place for guests to play bocce, work remotely, and host events. The opening day will feature free community activities and demonstrations.
Chicago Bocce Club to Open in West Town
Chicago Bocce Club, the city’s first dedicated bocce clubhouse, will open on August 15. It is located in the former Bridge 410 event space in West Town. The concept draws inspiration from Chicago’s bocce tradition, which dates back to the early 1900s.
The founders of American Bocce Company created the 15,000-square-foot space. It features five bocce courts, including three indoor courts made with Italian materials. The space also includes a members’ lounge, remote-work areas, private backyard courts, and event spaces.
The club will host regular activities such as leagues, tournaments, private lessons, Mahjong, Wine Wednesdays, yoga, and mobility classes. The spaces can also be booked for corporate gatherings, birthdays, holiday parties, and other private events.
Members will receive access to the courts and club, remote-work areas, leagues and tournaments, guest privileges, retail discounts, and members-only events. Day passes will also be available for court access, workspace use, and select public events.
The club is partnering with local businesses, including One Off Hospitality and Tempesta Market. This will offer catering options and member benefits.
Grand Opening Details
Chicago Bocce Club will celebrate its opening on August 15. The day will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Alderman Walter Burnett Jr. and the West Central Association Chamber of Commerce will attend.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests can enjoy a family field day featuring bocce, cornhole, ping-pong, giant Jenga, and hot dogs. Guests can also attend the “Learn to Bocce” class at 1 p.m. with national champion and professional player Andy Zimmerman. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can enjoy bocce games with professional players, DJs, magic performances, and food from local restaurants.
The celebrations will then offer a second “Learn to Bocce” session with Andy Zimmerman at 5 p.m. The day will conclude with an open bocce play session, a spritz bar, and live DJs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Chicago Bocce Club is bringing a new way to work and connect to West Town. It will give locals a new destination to enjoy the sport while becoming part of the local community.
