A staple dog house in the city will serve those traveling to and from the suburbs soon.
From Chicago Business Journal, the Chicago’s Dog House team is getting ready to open a third spot at the Ogilvie Transportation Center, 500 W Madison Street. The concept has been around since 2009, and owner Aaron Wolfson wants to bring the hot dogs to a new neighborhood. Right now, the team is shooting for a Dec. 1 opening date.
Chicago’s Dog House operates in Lincoln Park at 816 W Fullerton Avenue and at level 4 of the Magnificent Mile at 520 N Michigan Avenue. The Lincoln Park location debuted first, and in the past Wolfson has also operated at Washington food hall before closing it this summer. He just recently found the new 1,800-square-foot space in West Loop.
“Chicago’s finest hot dogs, since 2009,” says the description on their website.
The concept serves a menu of not just Chicago-syle dogs, but other staples like an Italian beef sandwich and his Original Doghouse Cheeseburger. Sacrilegiously, a “Blagojevich Hot Dog” is also available, which is a Chicago-style dog with ketchup. Sides like seasoned fries and chili cheese fries are also available.
The dog house will join the many other dining concepts at the station including POLOMBIA, Jamba, Soul & Smoke and Sushi Box. Many Metra lines are accessible at this station, and it is not confirmed where exactly the restaurant will be inside. This is on the east side of West Loop.
What Now Chicago has reached out to Wolfson and is awaiting comment on the new location.
