Before kids hit the slopes, a business owner and his family are offering a space for lessons.

Ryan Marshall is getting ready to introduce his Shredder Ski location to the suburb at 204 S Route 59, #19B. While offering classes at all levels for ski and snowboarding, he is also considering selling equipment including boards and helmets. Marshall told What Now Chicago he does not yet have an opening date as it is dependent on the buildout process.

The project was just recently teased on social media, and it has been met with a great amount of support from the community. It will join the list of the nine locations open around the country, in states like Colorado where it was founded, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Texas and Utah. Their current Chicago location is in the Old Irving Park area.

“With nearly 10,000 square feet of indoor fun, we can’t wait to bring something special to our community!” Says the recent post. Classes range from beginner or “little yeti” to higher level ski and snowboard school.

The building is attached to L.L. Bean in the plaza on the east side of Route 59. Other attached stores include Five Below, a Wayfair Outlet and SAS Shoes. This is at the north end of the Block 59 development, and Fox Valley Mall is a short drive southwest on Aurora Avenue.

Marshall will be providing more updates on Shredder Ski Naperville on their Facebook and Instagram pages.
