Oakland’s Souley Vegan — a vegan restaurant concept that closed after 14 years in business in October 2023 — is reopening, this time in Martinez.

Coming to the Market & Main food hall at 610 Main Street, the eatery will join existing tenants such as Bentley’s Cocktail Bar & Lounge, Pizza Amore’, and Shuck It.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the eatery, Mercury News reports that Souley Vegan “was known for its Pray 4 Me burgers, seitan country po’boys, and New Orleans okra gumbo.”

“Even amid restaurant closures, [Owner Chef Tamearra Dyson] became the first vegan chef to defeat celebrity chef Bobby Flay on his Food Network show, ‘Beat Bobby Flay,’ in 2022,” the article continues.

A reopening date has not been announced yet, so follow Souley Vegan on Facebook for updates.
