Berkeley’s Juice Appeal — a juice shop found at 2144 Kala Bagai Way, near Crave Subs, Gadani Ice Cream, and Long Jiang Pork Knuckle — is changing hands, according to a recently submitted permit application.

New owner Ilham Alhafnawi — who will operate the business alongside her children Laila, Besan, Jenin, Talia, and Jad — tells What Now San Francisco that after carrying out renovations, she plans to reopen Juice Appeal on March 15.

In addition to offering smoothies, acai bowls, coffees, and teas, Alhafnawi intends to add lunch and healthy dessert options to the menu — mentioning grilled salmon and salads, as well as cuisine that draws from her and her children’s Moroccan and Palestinian heritage.

While minimal outdoor seating will be available, items will also be available for pick up and delivery — and, unlike before, Juice Appeal will begin accepting credit cards.

Stay tuned for updates.
