The building on the southwest corner of the intersection between West Reno Avenue and South Decatur Boulevard appears to be the future home of a new restaurant and hookah bar. Recently submitted permit paperwork shows a restaurant called Corner Kitchen opening at 5115 South Decatur Blvd., Suite 100.

The paperwork was submitted for a land use permit for on-premises consumption of alcohol and hookah. Accordingly, it describes Corner Kitchen as “a full restaurant [that] will be serving liquor and hookah.”

Behind the project is owner Yared Derbaw. What Now reached out to Derbaw this week to inquire about plans for Corner Kitchen at Reno and Decatur. Derbaw was not immediately available for comment.

Situated on the intersection’s southwest corner, Corner Kitchen is located not far south of a cluster of food and beverage spots—O’Ace’s Bar & Grill, Yum Cha, and Foods 2 Go (located in the building that houses International Marketplace)—around the Decatur Boulevard-Bell Drive intersection. Go a little further to the north, and you reach Charlie Frias Park.
