John Wayne Airport is preparing to welcome Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken to its roster, adding a zesty new flavor to its food scene. Famed for its addictive double-fried chicken and bold Korean flavors, the restaurant is joining a wave of new eateries at the 18601 Airport Way property.

Bonchon, which began its journey in Busan, South Korea in 2002, has taken the world by storm with its crispy, twice-fried chicken coated in mouthwatering sauces. There are now over 130 locations in the United States and 1,000+ locations worldwide.

The airport’s food and beverage landscape is undergoing a major transformation, thanks to a 15-year contract to transform over 32,100 square feet of dining space across Terminals A, B, and C. Construction for the new airport dining options kicks off in 2025.

In addition to traditional full-dine and fast-casual formats as well as recent openings in malls and food halls, Bonchon launched its first two remote kitchens and first hotel location in 2023.
