According to a recent article from Bridgetown Bites, Trela Kitchen and Taverna has started a Kickstarter to support their opening in North Tabor at 6000 NE Glisan St.

A representative of Trela Kitchen and Taverna did not immediately respond to What Now Portland’s request for comment.

While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, Bridgetown Bite’s article states that they’re slated to open sometime this year. Trela’s Kickstarter reveals the four people behind the restaurant will be Napoleon Tzakis, who created the Kickstarter, Anthony Tzakis, Emmett Fraser, and Jordan Johnson.

“We are Napoleon, Anthony, Emmett, and Jordan, four friends held together by our Greek heritage, our shared passion for the culinary arts, and the restaurant industry. We were brought together by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Glisan Street here in Northeast Portland; a place where we became family. We are now excited to embark on a new chapter, as we move blocks up Glisan Street from where our friendships started,” their Kickstarter states.

At the heart of Trela’s culinary philosophy is a commitment to sourcing the freshest, locally grown ingredients. By prioritizing these locally sourced elements, the restaurant not only supports the local producers but also infuses its dishes with the distinct flavors that define the regions of Greece and the Pacific Northwest. The result is a harmonious fusion of local bounty and timeless Greek flavors, creating a dining experience that is both authentic and uniquely Portland. Their Kickstarter also states that the menu is from their family recipes.
