According to a recent report in Eater, the distillery Nine Banded Whiskey is working on a new tasting room after fresh investment and partnership with the venture capital firm No Sleep Beverage.

While no address has yet been added, the eventual tasting room will reportedly be found “somewhere in the Austin area” and “will serve its whiskeys, host live music, and offer food.”

“With this $10 million funding, No Sleep, which is led by founder Nick Papanicolaou, is investing and becoming a partner with Nine Banded. No Sleep has undergone similar investments and partnerships with Vermont distillery Barr Hill Gin, Solento Tequila, California winery Juliet Wine, and juice-based bottled cocktail company Soley,” Eater adds.

The tasting room plans comes after the Fitzhugh Road location announced back in 2017 did not materialize. Eater reports that co-founder Sean Foley that the tasting room project will work this time now that investment and partnership will enable them to “execute on a new and better concept.”

No address or opening date has been announced.
