Char & Stave, the Ardmore-born distillery-turned-coffee roaster, is previewing its second outpost, located at 8441 Germantown Ave in Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood, with a holiday pop-up ahead of the grand opening, which is slated to take place in spring 2023.

“We are thrilled to be expanding in 2023 with the addition of our second Char & Stave location and I can’t wait to give people just a taste of what is to come,” said founder and owner of Char & Stave and its sister distillery, Bluebird Distilling, Jared Adkins, in a statement provided to What Now Philadelphia.

Chestnut Hill’s pop-up menu will feature a selection of seasonal favorites such as Hot Mulled Cider, the Old Man Winter – a “seasonal Old Fashioned” featuring Bluebird’s Four Grain Bourbon, prepared with a blend of winter bitters, cinnamon, vanilla, and an orange zest garnish – as well as a Merry Mule, a Bluebird gin-based libation with spiced cranberry and ginger beer. Meanwhile, Char & Stave’s signature Everyday Blend will be the available coffee option.

Char & Stave’s flagship location in Ardmore opened earlier this year, bringing Adkins’ small-batch spirits and artisan roasted coffee under one roof and the banner, “coffee made by whiskey people.”

Char & Stave’s holiday pop-up will be operating Sat, Nov 26 to Sunday, Jan 4, before closing down “to allow for the start of renovations preceding the shop’s grand opening in spring of 2023.”
