Nicole Rabena, the formidable restaurateur behind Yardley Restaurant Group, recently acquired the former Morrisville Water Works at 650 N Delmorr Ave, and plans to open a new seafood concept dubbed Calhoun’s River Deck and Raw Bar later this year, according to local radio station, WPST

“We are thrilled to be expanding our portfolio with the acquisition of this prime waterfront property,” Rabena told WPST’s Chris Rollins. “We believe this location has tremendous potential and we are excited to bring our vision to life.”

Rabena did not immediately return What Now Philadelphia’s request for comment.

As its name suggests, the focus of Calhoun’s will be a raw bar and selection of locally-sourced seafood, with a menu that’s tapas-forward plus a full bar. What’s more, construction – which is set to kick off in a couple of months – calls for a large outdoor deck, capitalizing on its proximity to the nearby Delaware River.

“The Delaware River is a beautiful and historic location, and we can’t wait to offer our customers a truly special alfresco experience at,” said Rabena.

Despite the fact that Rabena’s Yardley Restaurant Group launched three short years ago, the brand has been nothing short of prolific, having established six concepts including La La Lobster, Mil-Lee’s Yardley Diner, coffee roaster Yardley Joe, an organic honey maker called Yardley Honey, a recently acquired pizzeria that’s being rebranded as Sauce, and of course, the eponymous small batch distillery, as well as a forthcoming Tex-Mex restaurant also known as Yardley Distillery
