A Philadelphia favorite is set to take the New Jersey pastry scene by storm. Federal Donuts, the hybrid donut and chicken restaurant, is opening its first New Jersey location later this year in Marlton, according to local media outlet Bucks Daily Voice.

The storefront will open in the Marlton Square shopping center, located at 300 NJ-73. No official opening date has been announced, though the Marlton Square website assures hungry guests Federal Donuts is coming soon.

Business partners Tom Henneman, Steve Cook, and Michael Solomonov created Federal Donuts in 2011. The Philadelphia institution quickly developed a large fan-base and currently has eleven locations in the city. The Marlton Square location will be the first shop to open outside of Pennsylvania.

Federal Donuts distinguishes itself by its unusual menu. The establishment serves two rarely paired foods-donuts and fried chicken. Guests can enjoy fancy donuts, which are freshly made daily, or hot fresh donuts, which are made-to-order. Federal Donuts serves its twice-fried chicken with dipping sauces, dry seasoned, or naked.
