Capt’n Chucky’s is bringing seafood and so much more to Medford this summer. The thriving chain is set to open a new location at 200 Tuckerton Road in August.
Owners Sam Cancelliere and Mike McGarry are opening the restaurant in The Village at Taunton Forge shopping center. The Medford location will be Capt’n Chucky’s seventh location in New Jersey and 19th overall.
Cancelliere spoke to What Now Philadelphia about Medford’s newest addition, stating “when the Medford opportunity popped up, I jumped right in.”
A long-time friend of Cancelliere’s took over the management of Capt’n Chucky’s main factory, allowing Sam to see first-hand the quality of the product offered. Cancelliere’s close ties to Medford make the area ideal for running his own Capt’n Chucky’s.
The restaurateur is optimistic that the establishment will do well in Medford, saying “We did our research and looked for places that do what we do with our ties to the area… and the feedback on social media has been mind boggling for how well it’s been received.”
The building is currently undergoing construction but Cancelliere states Capt’n Chucky’s is on track for an August 1 opening.
Cancelliere assures seafood averse guests that Capt’n Chucky’s has plenty of choices beyond it. “We have several options outside of seafood. We have an entire taste of Philly section, pastas, and flatbreads.”
Capt’n Chucky’s will offer guests some local flavors. The restaurant will carry Vera pasta from Newtown as well as selling cakes from Stocks Bakery in Philadelphia.
Cancelliere states that while Capt’n Chucky’s will be ready to open August 1, it may be a soft opening. He and McGarry may plan a grand opening later in the month.
Cancelliere encourages customers of all tastes to stop in, explaining “We’re so much more than seafood.”
