The original Sanford Herald newspaper building will take on new life as The Old Herald Bar & Grill when it opens for business this fall. The building, located at 107 S. Magnolia Avenue in Historic Downtown Sanford, was build in 1910 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Most recently, The Smiling Bison Restaurant & Bar occupied the space before closing permanently.

Owner Brian Costello told What Now Orlando on Monday that he hopes to open sometime during the first week of October 2021.

The menu will include American-style seafood and bar fare, along with a full-service drink menu featuring craft cocktails and beer.

Live bands and entertainment will perform Thursday through Sunday, with brunch options on Saturday and Sunday. Patrons can dine on traditional breakfast dishes and enjoy all-you-can-drink mimosas.

The Old Herald Bar & Grill website and promotional materials are currently in the development stage according to Costello, but more information will be available soon.
