Local franchisees Al Desai and John Yu are targeting Lake Nona and Sanford locations of Teriyaki Madness, according to recent reporting in OBJ.

The duo, who began with an Oviedo location, have especially leaned into catering which has grown from 10% of its business to 25%.

“We cater to Orlando City Soccer, and it has been a great partnership for us.” said Desai. “We cater pre-game meals, post-game meals and meals for its corporate staff during the week. We also cater Orlando Magic, Orlando Valkyries, several local schools, offices and medical facilities.”

“We got a $4,000 catering order from the Jonas Brothers,” recalled Desai. “Apparently, they had tasted the food at another Teriyaki Madness and wanted to order the food for the staff after the concert.”

“They had given our manager, Marzia Ramzi, two VIP tickets for the Oct. 16 concert, but she was so focused on getting their order perfect that she skipped the show to make sure there were no glitches,” he added.

No addresses or opening dates have been set.
