Local coffee brand Otus Coffee will soon spread throughout the area and country, according to recent reporting in OBJ.

As it amps up its impressive local and national expansion, Jeff’s Bagel has acquired Otus Coffee — the Winter Garden-based roaster from which Jeff’s Bagel Run has sourced coffee for four years — keeping founders Glen and Jaclyn Turchin on board as it becomes part of the brand’s significant expansion.

“Both of them will be joining us on our journey with Jeff’s Bagel Run to ensure we are as proud of our coffee as we are our bagels,” said CEO Justin Wetherill. “Glen will be our head of coffee, continuing to innovate our drink menu while continuing to roast up outstanding coffees. Jaclyn is joining our training and development team.”

Glen Turchin got his start roasting coffee on his stovetop in 2017, the ABJ reports. “It was a side hustle until I lost my job in the pandemic. Then we went all-in.”

“How we do what we do isn’t going to change, and we’ll be in the same location. But we will increase production to keep up with the growth of Jeff’s Bagel Run as it expands. There’s a lot of growth coming in the next six months or so, and we’re going to be busy,” said Turchin.
