Philadelphia-based bagel chain Bagels & Co. has announced plans to open 20 new locations throughout its home state of Pennsylvania and in Florida.
“Our initial expansion will be in Florida and Pennsylvania which we believe offers incredible growth opportunities for the Bagels & Co. brand,” Philadelphia restaurant group Glu Hospitality COO Derek Gibbons, who is leading the expansion with business partner and former investment banker Mike Marsh, said in a press release. “Our future plans call for expanding beyond that to several states and eventually a national rollout. We appeal to a wide audience. After all, who doesn’t like bagels and cream cheese, especially with the flavors we offer?”
Bagels & Co. bakes more than twelve bagel varieties daily, including French Toast, Cheddar Habanero, Everything, Blueberry, and more. The chain’s wide variety of cream cheese flavors, arranged like a display of ice cream shop flavors, includes Bacon Cheddar, Birthday Cake, Sriracha Scallion, S’mores, and more.
A total of 8 locations are planned for South Florida, which is the launchpad for a rollout that will bring the brand throughout the Sunshine State and beyond. Bagels & Co. has four bagel shops currently operating in Philadelphia with another three expected to open before the end of the year. South Florida’s first two Bagels & Co. locations will open in Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors.
