A vacant corporate headquarters facility in Central Scottsdale has sold to barbecue equipment company Dansons in an off-market deal for $39 million, according to a press release from real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield. Dansons will make the building its new headquarters when it relocates from Phoenix to Scottsdale.
“We are blessed to have acquired a beautiful new office building for our company to call home,” Jeff Thiessen, Dansons President, said in a statement. “The new Dansons campus will help usher in a new era for our company.”
Privately-held Dansons has more than 400 employees. In addition to barbecue smokers and grills, which it sells under its brands Pit Boss and Louisiana Grills, Dansons manufactures and sells wood pellets and animal bedding.
The office building where Dansons will make its new home previously housed a Fortune 100 insurance company. Located at 8877 N Gainey Center Drive, it includes two-story lobby entrances, underground parking and views of the nearby Gainy Ranch Golf Club.
The sale was brokered by Cushman & Wakefield’s Dave Carder and Scott Boardman in Phoenix, who represented Dansons in the transaction. Fred Darche and Spencer Nast with real estate firm Lee & Associates represented the seller.
