Swig, a drive-thru soda bar from Utah, might soon be opening a store in Phoenix! City public records indicate that a 573 square-foot restaurant will be under construction at 4635 E. Shea Blvd. in Paradise Valley. The space will be designed for both walk-up and drive-thru service.
Swig was founded in 2010 by Nicole Tanner of Saint George, Utah. When brainstorming ideas for possible new business ventures with her husband, they both landed on the winning idea of a drive-by drink shop. They started with their first location across the street from Dixie State University and the concept took off from there.
At Swig, customers can choose over 30 varieties of soda-based “mocktails” or they can create their own “dirty soda” concoctions. They also have a menu of energizing “Reviver” beverages and a caffeine-free “Refreshers” menu, plus hot chocolates, bobas, and Italian sodas.
To munch on, Swig also serves cookies, whoopie pies, and pretzel bites. Today, Swig continues to grow from its beginnings in Saint George. The chain boasts locations all over Utah, Idaho, Oklahoma, and right here in Arizona—there are two stores in Gilbert and one in Mesa.
Based on our source, we predict that the new Swig in Phoenix would be ready by summer or later. Representatives for Swig have been contacted but have not returned requests for comment. For more information, visit www.swignsweets.com.
