Evening Event Group has unveiled details regarding their newest location of Backyard, coming to Desert Ridge, located at 21001 N Tatum Blvd.

The new restaurant will make its Arizona debut in the former home of Sandbar Mexican Grill, according to the Desert Ridge Marketplace website. This site was intended to be a Fat Tuesday, but plans have changed. Now the shopping center will use this site for a pup-friendly bar and grill that takes “indoor/outdoor” space to an all-new level with a large-scale patio, games, TVs, bars, and endless entertainment. Backyard Phx is expected to open in early 2024, according to a Facebook post.

The pup-friendly facility will feature 45 TVs and an open-air playground. Backyard currently has two other locations in Fort Worth and Dallas. These sites feature menus full of comfort-food classics, such as chicken wings, sliders, and nachos, as well as salads, burgers, and desserts. The backyard also features a handful of crafted cocktails, beers on draft, and a selection of red and white wines. Special food and drink menus are offered during special events.

Backyard PHX will be one of many new tenants coming to the shopping mall in the next year. Earlier this year, Desert Ridge Marketplace announced four new eateries coming to the area this year, including Kona Grill, Spitz Mediterranean, Fat Tuesday, Younutz Fantastical Donuts and Ice Cream. Dirty Dough also made its debut in the shopping center earlier this year. Fat Tuesday will now sit next to Dave & Busters, according to the mall’s directory.
