Episcope Hospitality, a Chicago-based restaurant group with concepts around the country, is getting ready to open a handful of new concepts in Phoenix.

The group, led by David Morton, the son of Morton’s Steakhouse founder Arnie Morton, plans to open a new restaurant called Hearsay and a coffee shop called Perks within The Esplanade in Phoenix, located directly off East Camelback Road in the coveted Biltmore neighborhood. Both concepts, along with a marketplace, are expected to open sometime in Fall 2024, according to the restaurant group’s website. Episcope Hospitality began in 2009 as DMK Restaurants before rebranding last year.

“Hearsay, situated in The Esplanade, is a hub for dining, cocktailing, socializing, working, and entertaining in Phoenix’s Biltmore neighborhood, just steps from the area’s hotels, luxury shopping, and premier offices,” according to the company’s website. “With menus that cater to every palate and a space that feels modern yet classic, Hearsay is the perfect setting for a work lunch, private dining party, or happy hour with friends.”

The Esplanade is a mid-rise mixed-use complex on the Southeast corner of East Camelback Road and 24th Street. It comprises five Class “A” office buildings and a retail promenade. The $45 million development is an elevated social workplace where employees can go beyond the office and escape or collaborate within restaurants, outdoor green spaces, and more. Esplanade provides a future-resilient workplace, enabling tenants to attract and retain top-tier talent.

Episcope Hospitality, which is responsible for One Steakhouse in Las Vegas, Giorgio’s in Houston, The Landing and Office Hours in New York, and Marshall’s Landing, The Exchange, and The Founders Room in Chicago, should have no problem succeeding in this space, especially with a coffee brand to deliver to the many upcoming hardworking professionals.

“Perks is the coffee shop of Biltmore’s dreams,” according to the company’s website. “With a broad selection of coffee from the finest roasters and a gourmet grab-and-go menu, take a break at Perks to refuel, relax, and refresh. Meet up with coworkers for a change of scenery, grab breakfast to go, or stay a while to enjoy a morning brew.”
