After nearly four years, Thaily’s Restaurant in Chandler at 444 E. Chandler Boulevard has closed its doors, hoping to relocate elsewhere eventually.

The restaurant, owned and operated by Thai and Lee Kambar, officially closed for good last month. In a final farewell message, the owners tell their loyal customers that this is not a goodbye and that they hope to open at a new location in the future. Until then, the company will return to pop-ups, serving delicious Cambodian and Arabic food to the Valley. Thaily’s Restaurant was known as one of the only places in Chandler to get food from this region, while there are plenty of other international food options in the area.

“After 3 1/2 years, we have made a very difficult decision to temporarily close,” according to the company’s social media announcement. “We are Sorry for this. We will miss everyone we’ve come to know here. This is not goodbye so please continue to follow us for possible future new location and future pop up. We will be open for catering with advance notice. We appreciate all the support and love from the community.”

While it’s unclear when and where Thaily’s Restaurant will land, the concept served hard-to-find meals to its customers, such as spicy chicken laab, beef laab soup, and banh xo. Hopefully, the restaurant will return to a brick-and-mortar location soon, considering it was one of the only places in Chandler where authentic Cambodian and Arabic food was available. In the temporary farewell message, the owners said that the space on Chandler Boulevard is up for turnkey opportunity.
