Proving the new year is a time for rebirth, a popular Philly bottle shop will be debuting a new look and a new purpose in 2025. Botld, a beloved local distillery, will be turning its Rittenhouse storefront into a cocktail bar next year, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Fans of the bottle shop at 119 South 18th Street needn’t panic; owner Andrew Auwerda is not completely abandoning that aspect of the business. The location’s reinvention calls for 1,000 square feet of the 1,800 square foot space to be converted into a bar. The remaining 800 square feet will continue life as a bottle shop.

Botld, which first appeared on the Rittenhouse scene in 2022, will have seating for between 40 and 45 guests. While it is not the brand’s first cocktail bar-that distinction goes to its location in Midtown Village-Auwerda hopes it will become Botld’s signature spot. He states ““We have a bigger footprint in Rittenhouse to truly make it into like a flagship for the company, and we have a great following in that neighborhood, and [it] has a great tourist trade also.”
