A new location of Telefèric Barcelona is getting ready to debut in Arizona with a new site in the heart of Scottsdale at 7014 E. Camelback Rd.

The Phoenix office of JLL announced it had completed a 6,676-square-foot lease, ushering in the first-to-market Arizona location for Telefèric Barcelona, a family-owned restaurant group out of Spain known for its tapas, paellas, and cocktails, according to a press release. Like other Telefèric Barcelona locations, the Scottsdale Fashion Square restaurant will serve coastal cuisine with a California twist, embracing local produce and offering authentic tapas and paellas from Executive Chef Oscar Cabezas.

Established in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain, in 1992, Telefèric Barcelona grew to two locations in Spain before siblings Xavi and Maria Padrosa expanded the restaurant concept to the United States. Telefèric Barcelona now operates five restaurants in California, one in Seattle, and multiple new locations under construction at some of the country’s most iconic retail centers. Telefèric Barcelona is scheduled to open at Scottsdale Fashion Square in 2025.

The menu will showcase noteworthy tapas like Patatas Bravas and Croquettes, along with shareable plates like Pulpo Telefèric (Galician grilled octopus with pimentón potato purée) and Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic). Signature paellas will include Lobster Paella and Paella Negra, which are made with squid ink and a mix of shrimp and octopus. There will also be a weekend brunch, with special paella offerings and sangria pitchers for groups.

Cocktails will include Telefèric’s signature gin and tonic menu with combinations like the Ibiza (dry gin, silver dust, butterfly pea, tea ice and makrut lime) or the Catalan (botanical gin, grapefruit, rosemary, orchid and hand-cut ice). The restaurant will offer a wide range of premium Spanish wines, and Sangrias will be a focus of the beverage program as well, with items such as the Sangria Barceloneta, infused with prickly pear juice and cava, or the Telefèric Sangria, made with Tempranillo. Guests will also experience the porrón, a traditional glass pitcher used to pour wine directly into the mouth.

JLL Executive Vice President Regan Amato represented Telefèric Barcelona in its lease negotiations. James Chung with The Econic Company served as master broker.

“Telefèric Barcelona is a creative, energetic team that is known for delivering exceptional cuisine in a unique and upbeat environment,” said Amato. “Their newest restaurant will sit at the center of an award-winning shopping and dining destination, easily accessed by a central porte-cochère and served by valet parking. This site at Scottsdale Fashion Square is the perfect location for their Arizona debut.”
