A local and prolific franchisee is helping lead a national chain to a triumphant Philadelphia comeback. Dinesh Goswami is continuing to usher in Checkers’ next regional incarnation by re-opening a North Philly storefront later this winter, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Goswami has already revived a few defunct Checkers storefronts within the Philadelphia metro region; the entrepreneur is now focusing his attention on a restaurant located at 7115 Stenton Avenue. The 1,000 square foot space will be able to accommodate 24 visitors. Guests will be able to enjoy their meals at one of four outdoor tables.

A precise opening date is not currently available, however Goswami has confirmed to What Now Philadelphia that the restaurant will most likely begin greeting customers at the end of February.

Checkers has been refocusing its attention on the City of Brotherly Love over the past year and a half. The chain, which serves American fast-food, has previously shuttered 13 Philly locations, making its return to the region significant and impactful.
