One of the country’s largest chicken chain restaurants, Popeyes, is getting ready to open a new location in northeast Memphis at 2760 N Germantown Pkwy.
This location, owned and operated by the International Restaurant Management Group, is scheduled to begin construction this month and recently received a commercial electrical permit for new tenant alterations to an existing food court in Wolfchase Galleria. Elite Retail Services has been awarded this project, according to the Construction Journal. There is no exact opening date for this location, but considering this is a pre-existing space, the Louisiana-based company should open this site by the end of the year.
International Restaurant Management Group, led by President Tony Napoliello, owns and operates dozens of locations throughout the country, already in 23 states with plans to open many more. According to the company’s website, IRMB is opening five new Popeyes in California, two in Ohio and Texas, plus one in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, and Oklahoma. The group is also responsible for opening several other concepts throughout the country, including Kelly’s Cajun Grill, Suki Hana, Burger King, Firehouse Subs, and more.
“Popeyes culinary heritage is built upon the rich Cajun and Creole flavor profiles that are unmistakably Louisiana,” according to the company’s website. “We continuously draw upon and celebrate this heritage to inspire new, authentic menu creations the world craves. Popeyes distinguishes itself with a unique New Orleans-style menu featuring spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, and other regional items. This unique and flavorful food has allowed Popeyes to become one of the world’s largest chicken quick service restaurants, with over 2,700 restaurants in the U.S. and around the world.”
