Naansense sites the timing of COVID coinciding with the natural end of its leases on Wells and Clinton Streets for the reason both cafes shut down in 2020. During that time, the fast-casual brand serving Indian street food also created family meals and meal kits available for order and delivery, but it’s been a long while since fans of the cafes have been able to order a bite to enjoy in-house—around 20 months to be exact. Thankfully for Chicagoans, that’s about to change.
Chef Hiran Patel and Co-Owner and long-time friend Viral Patel have plans to reopen in Chicago Loop, although this time at 176 N. Franklin St. The brick-and-mortar is expected to open by the end of this year, and Naansense has been dropping lots of hints about that timing on social media.
It gets better. Following the N. Franklin St. opening, Naansense will open an Oakbrook location in summer 2022 at 83 & 22nd St. But that’s still not all…
Although the owners have yet to announce an address or even a neighborhood, Naansense’s website indicates plans for a third brick-and-mortar, expected to open in Spring 2022, perhaps just West of Chicago. Check back in with us for updates on the whereabouts of this much anticipated store.
Oh, and you’ll absolutely want to follow Naansense on social media for news of that Franklin St. opening.
