Situated just a few steps away from Buckingham Fountain, Pie Life and Buck’s Four Star Grill is returning to Grant Park, located at 301 S. Columbus Dr.

Pie Life made its seasonal debut last year, while Buck’s Four Star Grill has been serving Grant Park visitors for years. Both restaurants are expected to open in May 2022, weather permitting. Owner Bill Prahofer recently applied for a liquor license for Pie Life, suggesting it will be serving beer and wine soon, something not featured at the restaurant’s debut. Pie Life will sit on the north side of the fountain, while Buck’s Four Star Grill will stay at its southside location of the fountain. Both restaurants will remain open through September.

Pie Life will feature Italian sandwiches, gelato, and house-made dessert pies. Of course, as the name suggests, the restaurant will also serve several pizza options, including Chicago deep-dish pizza and New York-Style pizza. On top of that, Pie Life also serves espresso and coffee from Collectivo coffee. On the other hand, Buck’s Four Star Grill offers more American entrees, such as Vienna Chicago dogs, burgers, and more. Customers can also expect to find a great selection of local craft beers, wine, cider, and sangria.

Both restaurants are from the Eats & Libations, LLC family. The company has another restaurant, Lake Breeze Cafe, which is also seasonal and is opening in May 2022 at 5800 N Lake Shore Dr. All three locations offer delicious food to be enjoyed with a beautiful view, whether it’s the Chicago skyline or the Kathy Osterman Beach. At Bucky’s, a tiny squirrel (named Bucky) is found roaming the area, and if guests take a picture of him, they may be featured on the restaurant’s social media.
