Daves Hot Chicken, the fast-food chain specializing in Nashville-style hot chicken, is adding a new location in Schaumburg, located at 436 E. Golf Rd.

The new restaurant will replace Fuddruckers, which closed down in late-2019, along with McAlister’s Deli and a yet-to-be-named third tenant. Franchisee Raj Patel, who is also opening six Curritos throughout Chicagoland with Jay Punikollu, will open the restaurant at an unknown time. The new Dave’s Hot Chicken will sit on the northern part of the building and will have a drive-through, while McAlister’s will take the western space, according to The Daily Herald.

So far this year, the company has opened 17 new locations and has reached agreements with 13 new franchise groups for 127 franchise commitments, resulting in a total of more than 70 franchise groups and over 700 committed units. On top of that, Dave’s Hot Chicken will enter several new states this year, including Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Indiana, New York, Florida, Minnesota, Utah, and Texas, along with a deal to bring Dave’s Hot Chicken to the Middle East.

“There’s no question about it: Dave’s Hot Chicken is growing at a clip not seen anywhere else in the restaurant industry, and the numbers back it up,” Bill Phelps, CEO of Dave’s Hot Chicken, recently told QSR Magazine. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish in a few short years, but there’s much more in store. This is only the beginning for our unique, exciting, and craveable brand.”

This is an incredible achievement for the company, founded by Arman Oganesyan, chef Dave Kopushyan, and two friends in early 2017. The group of friends started in East Hollywood from a parking lot. Since then, they have expanded the restaurant into a national chain specializing in hot chicken tenders and sliders, with spice levels ranging from “No Spice” to “Reaper.” There are now dozens of locations throughout the country, with many more on the way.

“The growth of Dave’s Hot Chicken is showing no signs of slowing down. Despite already signing a number of deals for hundreds of units across the country, interest in franchising with us is at an all-time high,” says Shannon Swenson, VP of Franchise Development. “The remainder of 2022 shows a lot of promise for us to do even better than what we accomplished last year. I look forward to what the future holds for Dave’s Hot Chicken.”
