A brand new two-story restaurant called Hide + Seek is making its way to the West Loop, located at 838 W. Randolph St.

The new creative-American cuisine restaurant is expected to move into the former home of pop-up restaurant Nosh & Booze sometime this summer. A new restaurant group called KVP Hospitality, owned by Prysm nightclub co-owner Nick Karounos and partners Danny Vargas and John Poda, is getting ready to open the restaurant between Bar Sienna and the upcoming Levain Bakery. Hide + Seek will embody a laid-back luxury and a sense of connection to encourage guests to stick around.

When the new restaurant opens, guests can expect small plates and shareable entrees with luxurious ingredients, according to Eater Chicago. Some examples of dishes found at Hide + Seek include malfatti in ’nduja butter sauce,  a 60-day dry-aged ribeye, and Dover sole. The group also plans to add a weekend brunch option shortly after the restaurant opens. The owners hope to prove this new restaurant will not be a burden for its neighbors and, instead, serve as a go-to venue before or after attending one of the many nearby venues.

“The whole concept [of Hide + Seek] is about playing up the idea of comfortable elegance,” Vargas tells Eater Chicago. “We wanted to find the right balance. There’s nothing pretentious, no white tablecloths.”

Guests will have quite a lot to look at when this new restaurant opens. The two 1,400 square-foot dining rooms, each having 100 seats, will feature boldly patterned upholstered furniture, exposed brick walls, feather chandeliers, an Italian calacatta marble bar, and various pop-culture artwork. A giant window will allow guests to marvel at the always busy Randolf Street below. A rendering from Chicago’s Siren Betty Design shows an elegant design that isn’t too flashy.
