McAlister’s Deli is expanding to a new location in Schaumburg, located at 436 E. Gold Rd.

The American chain restaurant will be a part of the recent redevelopment that replaces Fuddruckers, along with Dave’s Hot Chicken and a third unknown retailer. A representative from the company tells What Now Chicago that the new McAlister’s Deli will open sometime in the first quarter of 2023. The new restaurant will feature curbside pick-up with dedicated parking spots and an expansive patio. This will become the 8th McAlister’s Deli restaurant in the Chicago area and its 11th total for Keystone Management Group.

McAlister’s Deli will sit on the western side of the building, while Dave’s Hot Chicken will be taking the northern part with a drive-through. The trio of businesses replaces one of the last Fuddruckers in Illinois, which closed in November 2019. Although there is no official word as to which company will be the third retailer, representatives of the developer say they hope to use the space for retail rather than another restaurant.

When this restaurant opens, customers can expect various sandwiches, salads, soups, and, of course, famous sweet tea. The Mississippi-based company was first founded in 1989 and now has over 400 locations in 29 states. Other nearby locations include Elgin, Glenview, Gurnee, Lake Zurich, Mount Prospect, Naperville, Orland Park, Vernon Hills, and Wheaton. The Schaumburg site will have about 75-80 seats and will open daily from 10:30 am to 9:00 pm.
