Following the upcoming arrival of a new Avli concept, Marvin’s Food and Fuel, located at 954 W. Fulton Market, is getting ready to relocate elsewhere.

While the restaurant remains open for the time being, it will eventually move out to make room for a new restaurant concept from the owners of Avli, who recently leased out the building, according to Eater Chicago. A new Modern Greek restaurant is expected to open in Spring 2024. Marvin’s owner, James Geier, tells What Now Chicago there is no official location or time frame at this time. Geier tells Eater the restaurant will reopen on the North Side in a neighborhood “more appropriate.”

While customers can still enjoy a meal at the restaurant now, the relocation is expected to feature all the same delicious food and drinks as the original site. The dinner menu includes a long list of shareable items, such as braised meatballs, steak and fries, and chicken gyros, as well as handheld sandwiches and Marvin’s burger with double-smashed patties and Marvin’s special sauce. The restaurant also has individual menus for brunch, mid-day, and late-night.

The arrival of the new Avli concepts will not disrupt other businesses already in the building, such as Morgan’s on Fulton, a multi-level, state-of-the-art events destination, which Geier also owns. The business owner has over 35 years of experience in the retail and hospitality industries. He is the founder and president of 555 International, a South-side Chicago-based hospitality design and specialty manufacturing firm, and Ol’Style Consulting, a full-service business consultancy practice in the real estate, retail, and hospitality industries.
