According to a recent article from the Chicago Eater, Nobody’s Darling is planning to expand to the South Side of Chicago with another location.
“We are very early on in the concept idea for the other location. We first wanted to make sure we had enough room at the original location, and now that it’s open, we are looking for the best fit of neighborhood and space,” Renauda Riddle, co-owner of Nobody’s Darling, told What Now Chicago.
“We are super excited to be able to host a welcoming space on the South Side. I’ve noticed that a lot of people who come into the bar are from the South or West sides, and we want to make sure to have a shorter commute for those folks and a welcoming space. We are open to and encourage our customers to provide feedback on what neighborhood to look into for our next space.”
According to the previously mentioned Chicago Eater article, “In September, Riddle and Barnes unveiled an eagerly awaited expansion that connected the tavern at 1744 W. Balmoral Avenue with a neighboring space to add a second bar and 45 additional seats. Originally a long, narrow hallway of a bar, the new section provides extra comfort and breathing room, but there are more than just logistical advantages to the addition.”
The second location will be like their original Andersonville location, with the same community space and atmosphere, while pushing out cocktails in a warm and sexy aesthetic background.
Angela Barnes, the other co-owner of Nobody’s Darling, and Renauda are described as two women on a “delicious” mission. Angela imagined a laid-back, Sunday morning, Nina Simone-styled lounge. Renauda dreamed of a space infused with a classy, sexy vibe where great cocktails are delivered on demand. Their dreams and imaginations came together to create Nobody’s Darling, according to the company website.
