According to a recent permit filing, NorthAmerican Concessions will open another Connie’s Pizza at Midway International, located at 5700 S Cicero Ave.

A representative of NorthAmerican Concessions and Connie’s Pizza was not immediately available to provide commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

For nearly six decades, Connie’s Pizza has proudly held the title of “Chicago’s Pizza.” The establishment has been serving up award-winning pizza, Italian cuisine, and an inviting 1800s warehouse-style ambiance that is said to have solidified its status as a beloved institution for both locals and visitors.

Connie’s Pizza is renowned for its diverse range of pizza styles, each brimming with flavors that have delighted generations of patrons. The loyal customers who have dined at Connie’s over the years continue to be captivated by its classic deep-dish creations.

But Connie’s Pizza offers more than just incredible food. The establishment caters to larger gatherings, making it the perfect setting for big parties and private events. With seating capacity for up to 490 guests, Connie’s can accommodate even the grandest of celebrations. Moreover, it boasts a full-service bar and an inviting patio, where patrons can bask in the warmth of a sunny Chicago summer day, according to the company website.

According to a Yahoo News article written in June of this year, over recent years, Midway has welcomed new food and retail establishments as part of its modernization efforts. One of the significant changes occurred in 2017 when many of the existing bars and restaurants underwent an overhaul. Notable brands like Potbelly and McDonald’s departed the airport during this period.

In this latest wave of concessions, travelers can look forward to an array of culinary options. Connie’s Pizza, White Sox Bar and Grill, M Burger, and Beecher’s Handmade Cheese are set to become fixtures in the central food court. Moreover, Garrett Popcorn Shops, known for its iconic popcorn, will open a second location outside the food court, while Dunkin’ and Reilly’s Daughter are among the other restaurants making a comeback after the construction phase according to the article.
