According to a recent article from Block Club Chicago, Feverdream will soon open its doors at 3152 W Diversey Avenue.
A representative from Feverdream was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.
According to the Block Club Chicago article, Feverdream will open next door to Common Decency, also behind Feverdream.
“For people who want a slightly fancier experience, Steuer and his partners are opening Feverdream next door, 3152 W. Diversey Ave. The intimate spot in the former Thank You space is scheduled to open early next year. It will be a little more focused and serious, with elevated plating and cool ingredients,” Steuer said.”
“It’s our version of a good time,” said Steuer, who was most recently the chef at West Town’s Funkenhausen, which closed in April. “There are so many places around the city that are kind of dark, and I don’t mean that in a negative way because I love a dark dive bar. But we wanted to do something that’s a little brighter and more vibrant and energetic.”
“Steuer and his partners — industry vets Kelsey Kasper, Jason Turley, and Felipe Hernandez — are hosting a pop-up at 5 p.m. Sunday at Longman & Eagle, 2657 N. Kedzie Ave., to give patrons a taste of what’s to come.”
According to Indie Chefs, “Mark Steuer’s love of food, cooking, and hospitality is rooted in his experiences of helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen as large gatherings were an important part of his family’s traditions. Having grown up as the son of German immigrants, Bavarian culture and cuisine is fundamental to his culinary narrative.”
“Steuer’s primary language was German, and it was spoken exclusively in his Charleston, South Carolina home until the age of three. His South Carolina upbringing introduced him to Lowcountry cooking and the distinctive assortment of ingredients of the American South. The influences of German immigrant culture and its ties to Southern BBQ laid the basis for his current expression in cuisine.”
“Steuer went on to conceptualize and create Carriage House where he was a partner and served as Executive Chef. Carriage House received many awards—both locally and nationally— most notably named one of the 10 Best New Restaurants in America for the year 2014.”
