According to an article from Block Club Chicago, Bookclub will soon take over the former home of the Elbo Room at 2871 N Lincoln Avenue.

A representative of Bookclub was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to the article, “Bookclub, a secret music venue founded by rapper TYGKO (Kevante Weakley) and Loyola alum Cam Stacey, announced this weekend that it will take over the former Elbo Room at 2871 N. Lincoln Ave. and reopen it as a music venue and bar.”

“Fans and artists from across the world gathered here for 30 years and it’s the perfect space to call our new home,” Bookclub posted on its Instagram page. “We are hard at work to bring you a brand new music venue, bar, weekday cafe and recording studio in 2025.”

“Bookclub launched in June 2021 and for three years hosted live shows on the second floor of a commercial building in Lakeview that was mostly kept secret. The Bookclub team plans to upgrade the stage, lighting system, bathrooms, green rooms for artists and the upstairs recording studio in the old Elbo Room building. There are also plans to add a cafe and other bars.”
