In addition to two recently announced Banh Shop locations – one near Texas Christian University and another in Irving – the corporate-owned franchise will soon open two more locations in the DFW area.
The Los Colinas location at 7601 N MacArthur Blvd will open this November, followed in the spring of 2024 by a location inside Dallas’ Shops at Park Lane at 8080 Park Lane, Suite B118.
Banh Shop is the brainchild of Mark Brezinksi, who co-founded concepts like Pei Wei and Velvet Taco. He recently authored “Fork Fight!” – a book that shares the good, bad and ugly behind the development of popular restaurant chains, including the Banh Shop.
Mark shared his insight and inspiration behind Banh Shop with What Now Dallas. “Banh Shop is not new. It opened originally in 2014, as a collaboration between me and Yum! Brands,” he explained. “Yum! Brands owns big players like Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, but they didn’t have anything in the Asian arena. They were looking for a concept they could eventually franchise and called me in to help.”
Pulling from the asian-cuisine-acumen demonstrated in the development of Pei Wei, Mark developed the concept for Banh Shop, which includes what he calls a “broader, more vibrant palette of Asian flavors and dishes.” Mark told What Now Dallas, “Banh Shop is my attempt at bringing a lighter, fresher Asian option to the fast casual scene.”
Banh Shop has since changed ownership and is now operated by YEB II LLC and franchisee A.C.E. LLC. Learn more about the fast growing franchise or explore the menu of baguettes, bowls and banh mi at banhshop.com.
