Terry Black’s BBQ plans to open its fifth location at 2926 W 7th Street in Forth Worth by the end of 2024, according to co-owner, Mike Black.
Mike told What Now Dallas that the timeline is tentative, as the restaurant is still in the permitting process which includes new construction of a 6,400-square-foot kitchen and dining area and a 1,400-square-foot pit house and exterior seating area.
The family-owned restaurant currently serves high-quality cuts and house-made sausage at locations in Austin, Dallas, the family’s hometown of Lockhart, and a Waco location opening in early 2024. According to the website, “Terry Black passed down generations of barbecue knowledge learned from his experience in the Lockhart BBQ scene.” Now, his twin sons, Mike and Mark, and daughter Christina, continue the family tradition.
Mike told What Now Dallas the restaurant “offers quintessential Texas with the old-school, traditional BBQ type of feel. That means that as soon as you step onto the property, you walk by the pits, see the fire, smell the smoke and are welcomed with hospitality.”
Mike continued to explain the unique elements patrons can expect from their experience. “We want to teach you something and show you how we do BBQ. All the meat is cut in front of you on blocks, market-style. You can get as little or as much as you want, it’s all weighed out right there for an experience not a lot of other places offer anymore.”
