The Texas-based, fan-favorite burger chain Whataburger is expanding rapidly across the country, with Nashville included. The brand previously announced its intention to open up to nine locations, including a Clarksville and Madison location, that opened last year. Now, East Nashville will be included in the expansion with a location confirmed for 1201 Gallatin Ave.

Although an exact opening timeline is forthcoming, the new location may finish construction in August of this year, as noted on permits.

According to recent reporting and Metro building permits, the location will be housed in a new 2,567-square-foot building replacing a former Krispy Kreme and will also be near the popular micro-food hall, The Wash.

Whataburger is known for its orange-and-white-striped restaurants and has famously stuck to a simple menu including burgers and fries, chicken sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, and a few salad options. It also sells retail including its own ketchup and other sauces online.

“Meaningful connections in our communities are as essential to Whataburger as serving bold flavors and original recipes with a side of extraordinary hospitality,” the Whataburger website states.

Customers can stay tuned for Whataburger updates on its website, Instagram and Facebook pages. A representative was not immediately available for comment.
