The neighborhood coffeehouse that has been serving the Downey community since 2000 will be settling into its second location at 8236-8244 Firestone Boulevard, just a couple of blocks away from the original on 3rd Street.

3rd Street Coffee serves all the coffee classics from caramel macchiatos and cappuccinos to rarer signature treats like the white thunder latte, horchata mocha, and ice-blended drinks like the oreo mocha. For tea lovers, there are assorted hot teas, classic iced tea, chai tea, and matcha green lattes for fall mornings.

The mom and pop shop also offers an array of delicious eats for breakfast and lunch, including breakfast sandwiches, salads, hot paninis, and club sandwiches like their signature 3rd Street Club, which is packed with turkey, ham, roast beef, and cream cheese.

Owner Mary Cho, who has worked nearly every day since opening the original coffeehouse over twenty years ago, was unavailable for comment on Monday and there has not yet been an official opening date announced. So be sure to check back here for details about the opening of 3rd Street Coffee on Firestone. We’ll be waiting in line for our horchata lattes right behind you!
