The Echo Park Neighborhood Council land-use committee Thursday evening will review plans by A.J. Khair Development & Construction for a 41-unit apartment development at the border between the Echo Park and Silver Lake neighborhoods, according to its meeting agenda for this week.

The proposed development would replace a commercial building and single-family home at 2210 – 2212 Effie Street and 1655 – 1661 Allesandro Street. The developer is requesting approvals from the city for Tier-1 project incentives under the city’s transit-oriented communities program, including a 14-unit density bonus. It would reserve four units for lower-income households, per the TOC program, plans show.

On Thursday, the neighborhood council committee will discuss and possibly vote on the project plans, which were first posted earlier this year.

Designed by GA Engineering, the project would hold 35 one-bedroom apartments and six two-bedrooms; it would also provide 25 automobile parking spaces and space for 46 bicycles.

Plans also call for 6,681 square feet of common open space
