“resilience and innovation have always been our saving grace as we thoughtfully think through and implement the next steps. Our restaurant system is broken, and our indie shop is a small but mighty cog. We are determined to come back strong. Our missions to serve our community and feed you thoughtful food remain intact. These core missions also serve as our guiding light.”
Founder Minh Phan’s love letter to diners continues,
“For the time being, we are finding light at our sister restaurant PHENAKITE, where safe outdoor dining is available. It is a very different place than the home base Porridge + Puffs. It’s not a step up or elevated, it just happens to be a place for special occasions, long format dining full of narratives. We hope that if you have a reason to celebrate or would like to continue supporting us as artists and artisans, you make your way to visit us. Sending much love and appreciation to you all!”
Curious about the seemingly impending reopening of Porridge + Puffs, What Now Los Angeles reached out to Phan for more details:
“We are not releasing a lot of info [at this time],” she explained to WNLA. “We have a full slate of projects [in the works] and I want to take [our] time and be respectful to our members and their craft.”
While it remains unclear if Porridge + Puffs will still make a winter return, it’s apparent that Phan has more than one culinary endeavor currently up her sleeve.
