A local restaurant owner is expanding his presence throughout the greater Columbus area by taking over Anand India Grill, located at 3011 Olentangy River Road.
Anand Kumar announced on social media that he has taken over the restaurant and will rebrand it as Taste of Awadh, according to Columbus Monthly. To celebrate this change of ownership, the restaurant is offering 20% discounts at dinner during March. Kumar also owns and operates a handful of other internationally-themed restaurants in the area, including Awadh India Restaurant on Bethel Road, Awadh by Chef Anand in Powell, and Awadh Indo-Chinese on Sawmill Road. Now, he will rebrand Anand India Grill for his fourth area restaurant.
“I am delighted to share that we will soon be taking over the reins at Anand India Grill, situated on Olentangy River Road,” Kumar said on social media earlier this year. “It is a remarkable coincidence that the restaurant bears my first name, and I am enthusiastic about rejuvenating this esteemed establishment. As we navigate the ownership transfer process over the next few weeks, our culinary experts will work closely with the team to ensure seamless quality control and adherence to our agreed-upon standards. Our ultimate objective is to present the local community with an exceptional dining experience, showcasing the rich flavors and traditions of Indian cuisine.”
This is a significant achievement for the business owner, who opened Awadh Indochinese last year at 6181 Sawmill Road. Chef Kumar has over 20 years of experience in this cuisine, having graduated from culinary school in 1997. He specialized in Indo-Chinese cuisine while working as a chef at a five-star restaurant in New Delhi. This new concept merges his Indian specialties with various Chinese dishes, including stir-fried noodles and Asian-style vegetables. Now, the restaurateur will shift his focus to rebranding Anand India Grill, with customers expected to see changes in the coming weeks.
